9mm Makarov PM (Pistolet Makarova) is a blowback double action pistol, all-steel construction. Manual safety switch is located on the left side of the slide. When switch is ON, it safely brings hammer down from cocked position and locks the hammer. External hammer can be cocked manually for the accurate first shot in single action mode, or can be cocked automatically by the longer and heavier trigger pull in double action mode. All-steel magazine holds 8 rounds and when last shot is fired, slide remains in the open position, thanks to the slide stop. To disengage slide stop, one must pull the lever on the left side of the frame down. Officially adopted by the Soviet armed forces in 1951, Makarov PM has a simple design and is considered to be one of the best compact self-defense pistols of its time at ranges of upto 20m, but a "weak" 9x18 cartridge lacks the "stopping power". Our current stocks include Bulgarian-made Makarovs (with moving slide, hammer and trigger, but no dry-firing / pinned chamber) which comes with one magazine and UK deactivation certificate
